Hybrid getting XBLA beta test

Hybrid will be receiving a beta test soon, developer 5th Cell has announced. Sign-ups will begin after the Game Developers Conference.

5th Cell’s Xbox Live Arcade shooter Hybrid will be receiving a beta test in preparation for its launch this year. The Scribblenauts developer says that sign-ups will open shortly after the Game Developers Conference next week, but hasn’t mentioned a start date for the beta or an official release date for the game.

The game was originally scheduled for 2011, but was pushed back to this year. With a beta test on the way, we can be fairly well-assured that it will hit sometime in 2012. Hybrid touts its “combat focused movement” to set it apart from other shooters, and it’s easy to see why. A gameplay teaser trailer shows snippets of flight and wall movement.
