Remedy Games is planning for Alan Wake to make his PC debut on Steam this February, the company revealed in a lengthy ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ session on its own forum.

The post also revealed other details, such as further confirmation that the game will not use Microsoft’s Games for Windows Live platform, nor will it be available on Mac. Though Microsoft published the game on the XBox 360, Remedy has opted to self-publish the game’s PC version.

In addition to self-publishing the game, Remedy notes that they will be “fully supporting the Steam platform,” which includes adding support for achievements and Steam Cloud.

In terms of graphical adjustments, Remedy says some details are still being ironed out, but “players can naturally adjust resolution, run in full screen or windowed and change numerous graphics quality settings such as anti-aliasing, FXAA, shadow quality, draw distance and so on.” One new feature included in the PC version is the ability to turn the game’s HUD off.

Citing a more complex set of tools than those found in Max Payne, Remedy confirms that there are no plans to offer gamers the tools to modify the PC version of the game.

“We are still finalising the optimisations and graphics scalability, so some details can still change,” the post reads, when asked about the game’s expected PC specs. The “current view” for the game’s hardware specifications include:

OS: Windows Vista or Windows 7 (see below for Windows XP)

Processor: A dual core processor is required:

AMD: Athlon X2 2.8GHz

Intel: Core 2 Duo 2GHz
