NBA Live 13 to mark EA Sports’ return to basketball

Years have gone by, and EA has been unable to create a game that will compete against 2K Sports’ 2K series. However, that should change later this year, with the release of NBA Live 13.

EA had big plans to shake up the basketball sim genre with NBA Elite. Promising a brand new control scheme, it was a very different take on the game. Unfortunately, fans didn’t much care for the game, and EA decided to scrap the game entirely. Years have gone by, and EA has been unable to create a game that will compete against 2K Sports’ 2K series.

However, that should change later this year, with the release of NBA Live 13.

The last NBA Live game was released in 2009, with Orlando’s Dwight Howard as the cover athlete. A new tweet from EA casually announced the game:

Moments after the “announcement,” fans jumped on the social networking site and responded to the hashtag. While some are excited, it appears many are skeptical of EA’s ability to compete against 2K–especially after taking a more than two year hiatus.
