During the September 2023 Nintendo Direct, the company provided an update on a gallery currently being constructed in Kyoto, Japan. The building has been officially named The Nintendo Museum, and we got a look at a new render during the Direct. Nintendo says that construction is coming along well, and is expected to be complete in March 2024.

The project was previously announced as the Nintendo Gallery, but has been given a new name. During the showcase, we got to see an aerial shot of the construction site, with a large Question Block on the building’s roof. As stated during the Direct, the Nintendo Museum will feature “a wide variety of Nintendo products from the company’s histories.” A render shows the white and gray buildings that will compose the Nintendo Museum, with an area for bus drop-off and pick-ups, as well as a small plaza outside the entrance.

Nintendo confirmed that construction on the museum is set to be completed in March of next year. However, it’s unclear when the establishment will open to the public. Either way, it’s something for Nintendo fans worldwide to look forward to. As for the games themselves, today’s Direct was packed with announcements about titles coming soon to the Switch.
