The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is soon getting its “Creation Kit,” and Bethesda has outlined some of its features with a new video. Chief among the points is Steam Workshop integration, which will let fans find and download mods quickly and easily.

Once the free Creation Kit and Skyrim Workshop launch, you’ll be able to browse for the highest rated mods, subscribe, rate mods and post feedback. Subscribed mods will automatically download updates. If you’d rather browse mod sites like Skyrim Nexus, Bethesda says you can, and has even made it easier by allowing INI files to be packaged into the mods.

If you’re a content creator, you can look forward to more powerful tools for dialogue, action scripting for multiple NPCs, and dynamic shadows when placing assets. The Bethesda Blog doesn’t give a launch date for the creation kit launch, but it’s inviting feedback based on what they’ve shown off.

These tools will apply only to the PC version, of course, but Bethesda says it will keep working on ways to expand mod support, including “hopefully” bringing them to consoles.
