Ubisoft has closed its Vancouver development studio. The team was primarily responsible for developing sports games for the French publisher. Its portfolio included games like Pure Futbol, Academy of Champions: Soccer, and MotionSports Adrenaline.

None of these titles have taken off, and many have been critically bashed. Pure Futbol, for example, currently holds a 38 average score on Metacritic. MotionSports received a 41.

“Unfortunately, we haven’t found the right formula for success for the talented team there,” a Ubisoft representative told Game Informer. “We thank our Vancouver team for their hard work and the projects that they have delivered. Team members will have the opportunity to consider positions in other Ubisoft studios and we will work with each of them to help find the best next step, whether it be within Ubisoft or outside.”
