Niche publisher and import specialist XSEED Games is taking its first steps onto PC with Steam releases of two games from Nihon Falcom’s action-RPG series Ys. This’ll be the first time Ys Origin is sold in English on any platform, and the first official English PC release of Ys: The Oath in Felghana–though fans have already translated them unofficially.

The Oath in Felghana, actually a remake of the third Ys game, will hit Steam on March 19 at $14.99. It’ll come complete with Steam achievements and Steam Cloud support. XSEED says it’ll announce when prequel Ys Origin is coming “at a later time.”

Though Ys: The Oath in Felghana has only been released on PSP in the west, in November 2010, it was originally a PC game, hitting Japan in 2005. Ys Origin is also something of an oldie, being released for Japan on PC in 2006.

“People have been asking for Falcom’s great catalog of PC games to be officially made available in English for a long time,” XSEED president Jun Iwasaki said in the announcement. “To start our new publishing arrangement on Steam with two standout entries from Falcom’s action-based Ys series, one of which has never been made available in English before, is an ideal situation for us, and we are excited about the future possibilities.”
